Course Overview The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Dog Day Care and Boarding has been developed to provide candidates with the knowledge and understanding needed to work effectively in dog day care centres, boarding kennels, or home boarding businesses. Carefully aligned with UK licensing requirements, the qualification also guides candidates towards achieving 4- and 5-star ratings for their businesses (England). This course is suitable for those already working in the dog day care or boarding industry who require a regulated Level 3 qualification, as well as individuals looking to enter the sector. No prior experience is required, and as the course is 100% theory-based, there is no need for work placements or practical activities. Developed in collaboration with leading industry experts, including professionals from 5-star rated facilities, the content ensures candidates gain up-to-date knowledge that meets licensing standards, supports best practice, and prioritises canine welfare. 

Learning Outcomes 

By completing this qualification, candidates will be able to:

• Understand the licensing requirements for dog day care, commercial boarding, and home boarding establishments in the UK
• Recognise procedural and operational requirements for compliant facilities
• Understand staff responsibilities in maintaining the welfare of dogs in their care
• Interpret canine communication and behaviour, and apply safe handling and behaviour management techniques

Course Structure This qualification is made up of four mandatory theory-based units: Unit 370: Operational Requirements of a Dog Day Care and Boarding Facility (4 credits) Unit 371: Canine Health and Welfare (4 credits) Unit 372: Canine Behaviour and Handling for Day Care and Boarding (4 credits) Unit 373: Health, Safety and Biosecurity in Canine Environments (4 credits)
